Daily Home Visit Cat Feeding & Care in Norwich

Established and trusted cat feeding in Norwich since 2015.  Over 600 reviews online - covering NR1 to NR8, plus suburbs depending on availability

Cats are very territorial creatures and will always be happier in their home environment.  Feline stress is one of the leading triggers for urinary tract infections, not to mention behavioural changes, and staying in familiar surroundings without the dreaded trip in the cat carrier reduces the risk of this.  Cat welfare is at the heart of what we do - we focus solely on cat visits and don't offer set times as no two visits are the same - if your cat is shy or wary of strangers we give them the space they need to feel comfortable, and likewise if your cat loves a cuddle, we are there to offer that too!  The service is tailored to what your cat wants when we are there with them in real time, as they will likely act differently with us to how they are with you when you are home.

Who Are We?

Norwich Cat Sitting Services was formed by Faith (Faith the Cat Sitter Norwich) and Kylie (The Cat Lady Norwich Cat Sitter) in 2018.  We have both been working as professional Norwich cat sitters in our own rights since 2015, but have been cat owners all our lives

Cats are our passion, and we have both taken extensive training in feline care, behaviour and wellbeing, so we can offer you the best care for your cats' individual needs and personality as well as being able to identify when something isn't right and offer advice

We are all fully insured with Pet Sitting Insurance and DBS checked for your peace of mind. Confirmation of these can be provided at any point.

Faith is qualified in the following areas - Feline First Aid, Cat Anxiety & Stress, Feline Behaviour & Psychology, Animal Communications and Caring For Elderly Pets, as well as First Aid for Puppies & Dogs, with all Diplomas at Higher Distinction level.  She is a cruelty free advocate, and has been a foster carer for various rescue centres, with Cats Protection & RSPCA sponsors, as well as volunteering at local shelters.  She has been a norwich cat sitter since the start of 2015, starting off as Cat Care Eaton, before relaunching as Faith the Cat Sitter in 2016.  Faith had used catteries prior to setting up her business, but after her own cat Star came back from the cattery visibly shaking and had not eaten for the whole trip the idea for cat sitting came into her mind.  Faith also has 3 other cats, Tommy, Moo & Fifi

KYLIE ROUSE - MANAGER & FOUNDER - 'THE CAT LADY NORWICH' - City, North & East Norwich

Kylie has been a norwich cat sitter since December 2016 when she launched The Cat Lady Norwich as a pet sitting service, before making it solely for cats in 2017.  She is qualified at Higher Distinction level in the following areas - Feline First Aid, Cat Anxiety & Stress, Feline Behaviour & Psychology, Caring For Elderly Pets, and Veterinary Nursing Diplomas Level 2 & 3. As well as her feline studies, Kylie is also a qualified Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician so has extensive knowledge of medicines and how they work.  Having a diva cat called Maggie (Lady Margaret) at home, Kylie hated going away as Maggie has special needs and doesn't get on well outside of her own space.  She noticed there was a lack of cat care providers locally, and The Cat Lady Norwich was born

Faith looked after my two cats for the first time (after coming recommended by a friend) and I could not be happier. I knew from the moment I met her she genuinely loved cats and her daily updates and photos while we were away made us so happy.Faith even got to stroke my very timid cat, who generally runs a mile!Would not hesitate to recommend.

So glad we used Faith and her services for our 9 day trip. Faith kept us informed with pictures daily of our kitty cats(although one went AWOL 🤣, we were still able to see he was visiting between feeds with out electronic cat flap). Would highly recommend and use for all our future trips if available. Such peace of mind. Also the added benefit of someone being at the house daily while away. Came back to happy cats all snuggled on our beds.☺️

We have recently started having Faith look after our rescue cats while we are on holiday. Such a great experience and so much less stressful than taking them to the cattery. She made some helpful suggestions regarding feeders and really put our minds at ease about leaving them. The daily updates and photos are brilliant and she obviously really cares about their health and happiness. Great service thank you 😁😁😁

Faith has been looking after our cats for a fair while now and we wouldn't have it any other way! They have their quirks, and various medications, but we know that they are in safe, loving hands with Faith. Daily updates and photos mean I can relax and enjoy my time away, knowing that the cats are unfazed by us leaving! It is so much better having an option to leave the cats in their own house rather than a cattery whilst we are away, they are in their safe space, with a daily visitor to feed them up and fuss over them!

So pleased we found Faith to look after our kitties. She not only let us book her last minute but also sent us updates of the visits which is very reassuring. She managed our cats feeding regime but also gave our more challenging cat his medication. We came home to relaxed cats, thank you Faith. Highly recommend.

We’ve used Faith’s cat sitting services a few times and she has been consistently great. The first time she looked after the cats she came for a visit to see what was needed and spoke to us about what they were like etc which was really reassuring. She isn’t just providing a service, she genuinely loves cats! We were sent regular updates and she always got back to me really quickly. I wouldn’t think twice about booking again and wouldn’t look elsewhere. Very professional, reasonable prices and all round great service. Thank you!

We have a 13 week kitten we were reluctant to leave for a night away. Faith went above and beyond to ensure that our kitten wouldn't be alone for too long. We got plenty of reassuring messages and pictures of a happy and relaxed kitten. I would definitely recommend Faith to other cat parents.

Kylie has been visiting our home to care for our pets for a number of years now. She’s brilliant. I receive regular updates and even photos from home whilst on our holiday, and our pets are not just well looked after, they’re cared for and fussed over. Communication with Kylie is always clear, professional and efficient. I would highly recommend Kylie and her team.

The Norwich Cat Sitting Service is excellent. Kylie has been sitting for our cat and keeps in regular contact and provides updates with how he is doing when we are away. The booking system is easy to use and the first contact visit was really helpful to know more about the service and share George the cats quirks. When re-booking, Kylie has been quick to reply and let us know her availability.George has been well looked after whilst we are away. We’re very happy with the service.

Kylie was absolutely amazing. We really appreciated her going in while we were on holiday as we knew that the cat was safe and well and that all was well at home.We know that our cat adored her as she sent regular photos of them having stokes and cuddles. This was great to see as our cat can be picky with who he does and does not like.We will definitely use Kylie again.

I cannot recommend Kylie highly enough. Since my first booking she has been amazing at communication, and has even taken the time to give me some recommendations. When she visited my cat she sent me a thorough update via text and some lovely photos of my cat. She was even kind enough to clear up when my cat was ill. My cat was super happy when I got home and is looking forward to Kylie’s next visit! Thank you once again Kylie x

We had Kylie look after our 4 cats whilst we were away. I've always used a cattery before but my elderly cat gets extremely stressed in them, which takes weeks to resolve itself when home, so I was looking for an alternative. I was quite worried about leaving them, but I don't think they noticed we weren't there! 🤣. Kylie was able to come twice a day, and set a nighttime feeder. I got regular updates and photos and was very reassured all was fine at home. She played with the younger cats, fussed the oldies and they were all so relaxed around her. We got home to clean cat trays and house, and most importantly the cats were relaxed and unstressed! Will definitely be using again and highly recommend her.

Highly recommend Norwich Cat Sitting Services. I have used Kylie for a number of years - she is always quick to respond to enquiries, has taken great care of my cats and sends plenty of updates. As well as providing some much needed company and keeping them well fed while I have been away, I have felt confident leaving my cats in her care when they have had additional medical requirements. She was happy and able to administer insulin to my cat when he had diabetes. Currently, my cat (not the same cat) has been diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease and requires a prescription diet and daily medication which can vary if she has a flare. Kylie manages all of this and keeps me updated with how she is and what medication she has had.It makes all the difference when planning a trip and going away to know that my cat will be well looked after!

Your Cat Is Our Priority

Here are a few things that we cover on our visits:

food

Food and water replenishment.  Cleaning of feeding areas and setting up timer bowls for timed feeds if required

PLAY

Fuss - this is all on your cats own terms!  If your cat is shy and prefers to hide thats fine too! We will never force a shy cat to accept fuss - we often find this approach brings them out of their shell quicker

meds

Administering medication where needed and keeping a general eye on your cats' wellbeing while you're away.  We have experience with all types of medication including giving insulin or water injections.  If your cat becomes unwell while you're away, with your permission we will make arrangements for them to see a vet.  If we cannot get hold of you or your emergency contact we will use our own judgement before making a decision to take them to the vets as a duty of care

litter

Scooping, cleaning and changing of litter trays, and keeping areas around litter trays clean and tidy.  We clean up any visible mess (eg faeces, vomit, 'kills' - this doesn't usually include cat hair as obviously this is part of having a cat!) that is found during our booking with your cat (please note we cannot be held responsible for anything that may need cleaning up on your return, from instances that happen after our last visit)

Daily service reports including photos

Your cats' safety is paramount and we take extra caution to keep cats inside if they are strictly indoor cats, or to be kept in when you're away.  If your cats goes in and out we will keep tabs on when we see them and their eating habits so that we can alert you if anything is out of the ordinary

How We Work

We offer specialist cat sitting pop ins in Norwich in the comfort of your own home.  Please read this section to better understand how we work

Our standard service and rates are for once daily flexible timed visits between 9-6pm each day.  In our experience, if your cat eats both wet and dry food, we find that wet food given on the visit and dry food out to graze is the best option while you are away, however we can supply or recommend timer bowls to stagger the food into am/pm feeding if you prefer that option, which we then set around our visits

We don’t offer twice a day visits due to availability.  If you request this on the form we will recommend sitters who may have availability for this. Twice a day visits are usually suited better for twice a day medication or specialised diets in multi-cat households, kittens under 4 months, and elderly cats

A 'flexible time visit' for our once daily visits means there is no set time, and you cannot request a time or time frame. All our visits are done between the hours of 9-6pm and the time we visit depends on our schedule for the day, as we need to work to a route to get round everyone in a timely manner.  We do not offer set AM or PM slots.

We don’t give a set visit length as this depends on every individual cat and job, we tailor our visits to your cat in real time, however a general visit is usually anytime up to 25 minutes but this can fluctuate depending on the day. Feeds may be shorter if your cat is shy or nervous of strangers, to manage their anxiety levels, as well as if they are already out when we arrive or prefer to be left alone to do their own thing.  We find that this approach brings them out of their shell quicker which then enables us to spend more time with them as the days go on when they are feeling more comfortable.  If your cat loves cuddles we will give them the time to have this, and likewise, in quieter periods or days that there is more than one of us working there may be times we are able to stay longer than 25 minutes in which case we will.

We offer an initial pre-meeting for all new clients that book in advance.  In this meeting we will pop round a week or two before your dates to see where everything is and collect your key. In this meet, we generally take around 10-20 minutes to say hello to you and meet your cats and see where things are.  We will also need to collect your key, so please have a spare ready.  We generally find that our pre-meetings are more for you to meet us face to face, as its the visits themselves that really let us get to know your cat.

Please note that we only have a certain amount of meeting slots per month, so if you are booking short notice we may not be able to accommodate a pre-meeting - in which case if we can help with the visits we will go through the information we need to care for your cat and ask that you drop a key to us beforehand.  We have trialled this for a few years in busier periods and it has worked very well and enabled us to help more of you.  We have ample reviews on Google and Facebook if you would like to read them

If your cat does not have free access to a cat flap we would recommend they are kept in with a litter tray for the duration of your booking, as we cannot give set times for bookings to open/close cat flaps and cannot wait around for cats to come back in if they aren’t allowed to stay out between visits if they venture off.  This is also alot safer for your cat as if they are in danger or spooked outside and cannot get back into their home they may be more likely to stray

You are welcome to have friends/family visit too if your cat is particularly sociable, but we do ask that you let us know if this is happening for insurance reasons, and that it is either before 9am or after 6pm so that it isn't likely to clash with our visit and your cat gets to see the two faces as planned instead of all at once!

After you send your request below, we will be in touch to confirm the dates we can visit.  Once we have your go ahead, we will send across our booking confirmation, plus our terms and conditions so that you can read about our cancellation policies and any other details.  Depending on if your dates are close we will then book in a pre meeting, or contact you again closer to the time to arrange this

We work all year round, but to a limited service for Christmas, Easter and Bank Holidays.  These periods book up extremely quickly so please book in advance to avoid disappointment.  The service for these seasons are as follows;

Christmas Day & Boxing Day - These days are charged at £19-20 per visit IF we are working them and we only offer once daily visits for any home on these days

Christmas Eve, New Years Eve, New Years Day, Easter, Bank Holiday Weekends, Bank Holiday Mondays & any other days that may be made a bank holidays - These days are charged at £14-15 per visit and we only offer once a day visits for any home on these days

We can hold your keys as part of our key holding service if you go away regularly or find it hard to remember to drop a key to us before your dates.  Keys are kept in secure safes when we are not on a booking with your cat.  Alternatively, we are well versed in all types of Key Safes and are happy to use these if you have one
